William “Will” Edward Holmes, Jr. “Will” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was born April 16, 1988 to William and Yvonne Dunbar Holmes in Beaufort, South Carolina. “Will” received his formal education in the Beaufort County School District. He was a 2006 graduate of Beaufort High School, Home of the Eagles. “Will” played football and basketball skillfully, he was light on his feet as he ran track. Upon moving to Aiken, South Carolina, He pursued his education in Business Administration at the University of South Carolina, Aiken where he studied hard and played flag football. Under the governance of Pastor Sarah Speaks “Will” was a member of Holy Temple II. Will’s personality was very joyful and hilarious. Wherever you met him he showed great respect toward others. His face would grace you with a smile. He was warm-hearted, free-spirited, open minded and free hand. There was nothing “Will” wouldn’t do for others. If you were carrying a burden “Will” would encourage you with words of wisdom. His passion was spending time with his family and friends, and playing video games. At family gatherings, he would always sing his one favorite song “I Feel the Spirit”. “Will” was a very hard worker. He was a valued employee at the Red Lobster Incorporation of Aiken, South Carolina. He is preceded in death by two grandfathers, Willie Holmes and Harvey Dunbar. On May 14, 2012, God dispatch His guardian angel to summon “Will” from his earthly tabernacle. He departed this life leaving family and friends to cherished his memories; His parents, William and Yvonne Dunbar Holmes; two dedicated, loving sisters, Eboni and Shacoya Holmes; Two special grandmothers Jestine Dunbar and Floretta Holmes, seven aunts, Catherine Harris, Doris Singleton, Linnie Blake(John), Linda Dunbar, Helen Bleach(Henry), Floretta Simmons and Tia Simmons, eight uncles, Lawrence Dunbar (Vernita), James Dunbar (Christina), Eddie Dunbar (Cindy), Clinton Holmes, Michael Holmes, Sr. (MaryAnn), Derrick Holmes (Jeanette), Terry Holmes (Stephanie), and Aaron Simmons (Tomekia); A very special friend he held dear to his heart Tanja Owens. Close friends and classmates; Carl Jones, Quamel Hubbard, Odessa Brown, Dontae’ Bush, Crystal Cummings, Amanda Harriot and Hope Jenkins. A host of grandaunts and granduncles, cousins other relatives and friends.
